Event The Flax in Festival
Flax in Festival – 29th Edition (June 12-14, 2026) in Doudeville, the Linen Capital of Normandy
Each June, the delicate bluish flax flower briefly transforms the landscapes of the Pays de Caux—a natural spectacle celebrated for over 20 years in Doudeville, proudly known as the Linen Capital of Normandy.
The Flax in Festival (Lin en Fête) invites visitors to discover one of the region’s most iconic crops. Famous for its exceptional-quality fiber, Normandy flax is highly prized by fashion houses, eco-friendly designers, and textile manufacturers. It is exported worldwide from Seine-Maritime, the world’s leading flax-producing region.
Flax has been cultivated in the Pays de Caux since the 13th century, and today it plays an essential role in sectors such as fashion, interior decoration, food products, and sustainable construction.
In 2026, the town of Doudeville and the association Doudeville en fête are unveiling a new, enriched edition of “Flax in Festival”, offering visitors an authentic and immersive experience at the heart of Normandy’s linen heritage.
